Kinder – Kinder Projects in Progress!
Kinder 5: STORIES AND CORNERS!
Kinder 5 has been working with stories, learning about plots and characters. They had a wonderful time dramatizing, dressing up with costumes and repeating simple lines after the teacher. “Pete the Cat Rocking in his School Shoes” was one of their favourite stories!
Children learn best if they are actively engaged so, every Friday we play in corners. Implementing centers promotes independence, help children become more responsible, reinforce vocabulary and provides the teacher meet the needs of individual students. The classroom is organized in 4 stations where they play games and practise all the vocabulary they have learnt throughout the year.
Kinder 4: WE’RE ARTISTS!
Kinder 4 has been working and learning lots of aspects about two very important artists Joan Miró and Quinquela Martin.
Their teacher explained and showed the children photos of Quinquela’s work. That he was considered a prestigious port painterand one of the most popular Argentine painters. His paintings of port scenes show the activity of the daily life in the port of La Boca.
They learnt that the former painter drew curvy lines and used shiny colours. They loved his paintings and made lots of drawings with curvy lines.
Finally, they made a big painting all together. It was a lovely class project and the children enjoyed every activity.
Kinder 3: FIVE SENSES!
Kinder 3 Our five senses allow us to enjoy the world around us. Children may recognize the importance of their senses, but they don’t often focus on them individually.
We created and gathered a multitude of games, activities, arts and crafts, and resources to help the children learn about each of the five senses. They experimented with sound by making Instruments, guessed what’s inside a “feely” bag by using touch, enjoyed playing in the field bare-foot, tried different ways of walking around” Soft”, “hard”, “wet” and “foamy” textures and investigated to find out why they could taste different flavors, and much more. Each time pupils described what they felt.
We assigned “Family homework” and parents help was GREAT!
Kinder 2: LITTLE COOKS!
Kinder 2 learnt about the importance of keeping food clean and safe to eat, food groups, the importance of water and other healthy drinks, and how vegetables are grown. The teacher created opportunities for children to become familiar with healthy choices through games, crafts, and tasting challenges. The activities explained how some foods are needed every day while others should only be occasional treats.
They talked about the importance of washing their hands before cooking and, also before eating something. They prepared special snacks such as delicious sweet cookies with “dulce de leche”, cut bananas in slices and sausages.
COOKING IS FUN!!!!
