Prize Giving, Egresados, 35º Aniversario y mucho más
Otra vez nos encontramos como comunidad en el cierre de un próspero año de trabajo. Un diciembre intenso que nos hizo vivir los últimos festejos de nuestro 35º Aniversario, las celebraciones con nuestros Egresados de Kinder, Junior & Senior, la emotiva ceremonia del Prize Giving, y las inmensas expectativas del próximo viaje de estudios a Oxford (trip to UK & Paris – January 2018!).
Diciembre es el Momento en que repasamos todo un año de trabajo, esfuerzo, ilusiones y conquistas, entendiendo que no hay conquista sin una meta, pero tampoco hay conquista sin obstáculos y -por sobre todas cosas- sin la superación de esos obstáculos. Conquistas aparentemente personales, pero esencialmente comunitarias, las visibles y las invisibles, disfrutando de todo lo lindo que vimos en este año, nuestro número 35.
Green Look, Family day, Talent Show, Olimpíadas de matemática y filosofía, The Colorful Concerts, Trinity Exams, Cambridge Exams, los festejos del Aniversario, las Convivencias, Padres Expertos, los Torneos Deportivos, Northern Debate League, los proyectos de investigación, Senior G20, las exposiciones de arte, las Open Classes, los Workshops, los Viajes de Estudio, TEDed Clubs, todas las acciones del Community Service Team, los Sports… una lista enorme. Las conquistas se apilan y expanden.
No queda más que agradecer y sentirnos orgullosos de este fabuloso año de trabajo.

This year, kindergarten presented «It’s a Beautiful Day». A fun story about toys, that included tips teaching in values. It was a party full of brightness and tenderness. The children stood out on the stage, dancing, singing and speaking in English.
Through simple everyday dramatizations created and represented by the children, Kinder put on this Musical Play which took them to reflect on the values related to toys.
Every class worked on the topic of their song and dance, relating it to everyday play situations. Through the concert, we emphasize the importance of looking after toys, sharing them with friends, putting them away after playing, and the importance of having fun and how wonderful it is to create stories using them.
UP AND DOWN JUMP AND RUN, PLAYING WITH TOYS IS LOTS OF FUN!
Este año, Kinder presentó «IT´S A BEAUTIFUL DAY». Una historia divertida sobre juguetes, con una enseñanza en valores. Fue una fiesta llena de brillo y ternura. Los niños se destacaron en el escenario, bailando, cantando y hablando en inglés.Por medio de dramatizaciones simples y cotidianas creadas y representadas por los alumnos, Kinder puso esta obra musical que los llevó a reflexionar sobre los valores relacionados con los juguetes.Cada sala trabajó en el tema de su canción y baile, relacionándolo con situaciones de juego cotidianas. A través del Concert , enfatizamos la importancia de cuidar los juguetes, compartirlos con amigos, guardarlos después de jugar, la importancia de divertirse y lo maravilloso que es crear historias usándolos.

Kinder – Articulación Kinder – Junior
Con el objetivo de acompañar a los alumnos de Kinder en esta importante transición, durante el mes de octubre y noviembre, llevamos adelante variadas actividades de articulación con Junior1.
Generamos estrategias para favorecer su adaptación a Junior School. Les brindamos un espacio de encuentro entre ambos niveles y apoyamos a los niños para que puedan realizar una despedida adecuada para comenzar una nueva etapa…
¡Hasta siempre! ¡Cuántos logros! Nos dará mucha alegría seguir viéndolos crecer.
KInder – Contame un Cuento
Nuestro proyecto anual de biblioteca propone revalorizar su uso e iniciar a los niños en el ejercicio práctico del uso cotidiano de la biblioteca de la sala y el jardín, partiendo de crear un clima agradable, confortable y significativo. Poner al niño en contacto directo con los libros favoreciendo y convirtiéndolos gradualmente en lectores competentes, sensibles y críticos.
La lectura frecuente de cuentos contribuye en el desarrollo del vocabulario, en la adquisición de conocimientos sobre el libro y su manejo y sobre la orientación de la escritura, potenciando el interés y placer por la lectura, además de incentivar la escucha comprensiva.
Promueve el reconocimiento de palabras escritas y el desarrollo del esquema narrativo, el cual facilita la comprensión y producción de relatos expresivos. Esto proporciona al niño la oportunidad de descubrir la potencialidad del lenguaje para conocer y explorar mundos.
Nada contagia más el amor por la lectura que tener padres lectores y una buena biblioteca a mano.
A fin de año nos visitó la Biblioneta y nos propuso un viaje cargado de historias, cuentos narrados oralmente, rodeado de colores, paisajes, aventuras. Tuvimos la posibilidad de cantar juntos, algunas canciones conocidas y otras no tanto. Compartimos un espacio en donde prevaleció el encuentro, la música, los cuentos.
TELL ME A STORY…
Our annual library project proposes to revalue its use and initiate the children in the practical exercise of the daily use of the library of the classroom. Starting from creating a pleasant, comfortable and significant reading atmosphere. Putting the child in direct contact with books and gradually turning them into competent, sensitive and critical readers.
Frequent reading of stories contributes to the development of the vocabulary, the acquisition of knowledge about the book and its management and the orientation of writing, enhancing interest and pleasure in reading, as well as encouraging understanding listening.
It promotes the recognition of written words and the development of the narrative scheme, which facilitates the comprehension and production of expressive stories. This gives the child the opportunity to discover the potentiality of language to know and explore worlds.
Nothing is more contagious of love for reading, than having parent readers and a good library at hand.
At the end of the year the Biblioneta visited us and proposed a trip full of narrated stories, surrounded by colours fun places and adventures. We had the chance to sing together, some songs known and others not so much. We shared a space where the encounter, the music, the stories prevailed.
Kinder – Happy Halloween!
As every year, in Kinder we celebrated HALLOWEEN.
We enjoyed the traditional bike ride and had fun riding on our bicycles, skateboards and tricycles that we decorated with our families. We also share a delicious snack with our friends and exchanged candies.

Como todos los años, en el Kinder festejamos HALLOWEEN.
Disfrutamos de la tradicional bicicleteada y nos divertimos andando en nuestras bicicletas, monopatines y triciclos que decoramos con nuestras familias. También compartimos un snack e intercambiamos golosinas.

Kinder – K4: Our Vegetable garden is Open!
Kinder 4 comenzó a trabajar en la huerta como parte de su Proyecto de plantas. La misma brindó un espacio para que los niños puedan estar en contacto con el ambiente natural, observar la diversidad biológica, buscar explicaciones a los fenómenos naturales.
Poco a poco, han logrado ir descubriendo, lo que nace, lo que se transforma y lo que muere. Han desarrollado habilidades de observación, exploración, investigación y formulación de preguntas. Sobre todo haciendo, que el ambiente natural se transforme en el objeto de conocimiento.
Su trabajo en la huerta comenzó en la sala armando germinadores y almácigos. Continuó con la preparación de la tierra y el sembrado de semillas de rábano, tomate y lechuga entre otras. También con la colocación carteles para marcar lo que habían plantado en cada lugar.
Ahora… están ocupados cuidando de la huerta, regando y esperando que ¡todo crezca!
OUR VEGETABLE GARDEN IS OPEN!
Kinder 4 began working in the Vegetable Garden as part of their Plant Project. It provided a space for children to be in contact with the natural environment, observe biological diversity, and look for explanations for natural phenomena.
Little by little, they have managed to discover, what is born, what is transformed, and what dies. They developed skills such as observing, exploring, relating and asking questions.
Their work in the vegetable garden began in the classroom with the putting together of germinators and seedlings. Continued with the preparation of the soil and once it was ready they planted seeds of radish, tomato and lettuce. They also painted beautiful signs to mark patches and of what they had planted in each place.
Now … they are busy taking care of their garden, watering and waiting for everything to grow!
Happenings – ¡Feliz Día del Maestro!
El 11 de Septiembre se ha establecido como Día del Maestro, en conmemoración a la fecha del fallecimiento de Domingo Faustino Sarmiento.
Fue docente, periodista, militar, estadista, promotor de avances científicos, político y un gran escritor que llego a ser Presidente de la República Argentina. Fue uno de los mayores precursores de la educación en nuestro país, como Presidente trabajó por lo que había luchado toda su vida: la educación y la cultura de su pueblo. Creo y fundó muchas escuelas primarias, la Academia de Ciencias, la Facultad de Ciencias Físicas y Matemáticas, el Observatorio Astronómico de Córdoba y la Biblioteca Nacional de Maestros, entre muchas otras obras. Sarmiento trabajó para que todos los niños fueran a la escuela. Por esto es conocido como “El Maestro de la Patria”.
Mediante juegos, bailes, entrega de medallas, regalos, carteleras con fotos y dibujos confeccionados por los alumnos y un riquísimo brunch nuestro Staff fue homenajeado en su día. No faltaron las risas y ni los aplausos…
También queremos agradecer a las familias por los regalos y demostraciones de cariño recibidas.

September 11th. is considered Teacher’s Day, commemorating the date of the death of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento.
Domingo Faustino Sarmiento was a teacher, journalist, military man, statesman, promoter of scientific advances, politician and a great writer who became President of the Argentine Republic. He was one of the greatest precursors of education in our country, as President worked for what he had fought all his life: the education and culture of his people. Created and founded many primary schools, the Academy of Sciences, the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Mathematics, the Astronomical Observatory of Cordoba and the National Library of Teachers, among many other works. Sarmiento worked so that young children could attend school.
Through games, dances, medals, gifts, boards with photos and drawings made by the students and a delicious brunch, our teachers were honored in their Day. There was lots of laughter and applauses…
We also want to thank the families for the presents and demonstrations of affection we received.
We shared a beautiful Day celebrating with our colleagues and students!!!
Kinder – Art Exhibition 2017
Art is an important part of our children education. They are active learners, and making art is a hands-on activity that expands imaginations and exercises creativity. It also develops small motor control and eye-hand coordination, and sharpens pupil’s powers of observation and communication skills. They learn the fundamentals of art through painting and drawing, making collages, fashioning three-dimensional objects out of clay, and talking about their work.
For our Kinder Sports, the School Hall was turned into an Art Gallery. We displayed the pupils work. They used a variety of painting tools and materials. Part of the entrance was turned into a real sea scene. The children made sea animals using different material and the teachers displayed them in beautiful setting.
They had fun reading different stories and expressing what they learnt about the characters and plots through art: scenery for the Three Little Pigs; A long and Very Hungry Caterpillar; A colourful tennis shoe for Pete the Cat; baking a Gingerbread Man and creating Crazy Monsters.
They also talked about how shapes make up our body and what parts connect between themselves. Pupils drew self-portraits and parts of bodies on boxes to make funny movable vertical body puzzles.
Our pupils felt really proud of their productions and on Kinder Sports Day were able to share them with their families who greatly appreciated them.
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ART PRODUCTIONS!!!
El arte es un área importante de la educación. Los niños son aprendices activos, y las actividades plásticas amplían la imaginación y ejercen la creatividad. También desarrollan la motricidad fina y una coordinación ojo-mano, y agudizan la observación y las habilidades de comunicación de los niños. Aprenden los fundamentos del arte – color, línea, forma, forma y textura – pintando y dibujando, haciendo collages, formando objetos tridimensionales de arcilla y hablando de su trabajo.
Para nuestro Kinder Sports, el Hall de entrada del Colegio se convirtió en una Galería de Arte. Expusimos el trabajo de los alumnos confeccionados con una gran variedad de herramientas, soportes y materiales.
El centro del Hall se convirtió en una escena del fondo del mar. Los niños hicieron animales marítimos utilizando diversos materiales descartables y las maestras armaron un muy lindo escenario para mostrarlos. También se divirtieron leyendo diferentes historias y expresando lo que aprendieron sobre los personajes y argumentos por medio del arte: Un mural de los Tres Chanchitos; Una larga y muy hambrienta oruga; Un zapatilla colorida para Pete el gato; amasaron un hombre de pan de jengibre y crearon simpáticos monstruos.
Uno de los grupos conversó acerca de las partes nuestro cuerpo y cuáles son las que se conectan entre sí. Luego los alumnos dibujaron autorretratos y también prepararon rompecabezas verticales móviles para armar y desarmar con partes del cuerpo.
Nuestros alumnos se sintieron realmente orgullosos de sus producciones y el día de nuestros Kinder Sports pudimos compartirlos con sus familias quienes los apreciaron mucho.

Kinder – Kinder Sports 2017: Happy Birthday Dear School!!!
As every year, we enjoyed a Saturday morning with our pupils and their families. The children marched to the tune of The Bridge on the River Kuwait and then performed motor circuits showing skills such as coordination, running, balance, tossing, chasing, and jumping. Parents and grandparents followed their child´s progress through the different stations, cheering for them, filming and taking pictures.
Next t was the turn of the races, each group of pupils ran to their parents who were waiting for them to give them their medals. We ended up the morning sharing stations with enjoyable games with children, and parents, running around and playing happily.
As a closing activity different groups prepared a HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONG for our School. We blew out imaginary candles and gave out the handmade presents the children prepared for their families while everyone enjoyed eating cake.
Happy Birthday CDP!!!
Como cada año, disfrutamos de un sábado por la mañana con nuestros alumnos y sus familias. Los niños marcharon con la canción El puente sobre el Río Kuwait y luego realizaron circuitos mostrando habilidades como coordinación, equilibrio, lanzamiento, persecución y salto. Los padres y los abuelos siguieron a sus hijos a través de las diferentes estaciones, animándolos, filmando y tomando fotos.
A continuación fue el turno de las carreras, cada grupo de alumnos corrió hacia sus padres que esperaban que les dieran sus medallas. Terminamos la mañana compartiendo juegos divertidos con niños y padres, corriendo y jugando felizmente.
Como actividad de cierre, diferentes grupos prepararon una canción de FELIZ CUMPLEAÑOS para nuestro Colegio. Soplamos velas imaginarias y entregamos los regalos que los niños prepararon para sus familias mientras todos disfrutaban comiendo torta.
